Out of the Box

Out of the Box

I'm going to be somewhat inconsistent at times. My mind might change. I don't fit nicely and neatly into a box. And I don't think any of us do or should.

As a psychology major I can understand why some of us feel more comfortable when things fit into organized boxes - it helps us avoid fear and pain. But I think learning to lean into the awkwardness rather than fight for easy clean lines and organize people into boxes, is ultimately the best way to approach life.

I make that mistake too. My brain defaults to boxing everything up so that I know how to approach life. But I think if we can all give each other a lot of kindness and love, the box system will become irrelevant.
